Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade & Black Friday

The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is a huge event that is televised in the morning on Thanksgiving. There are big floats with celebrities and giant balloons of popular characters like Snoopy, Buzz Lightyear, Spongebob Squarepants, and more. Also in the morning they play cartoons with the a Thanksgiving theme, like A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.

Charlie Brown Origins of Thanksgiving

Here are some videos about Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. It is the biggest shopping day of the entire year. Stores sometimes open at midnight the day of Thanksgiving, while others open at 5 in the morning. People will sleep in a tent outside of a shop so that they can be the first ones in the shop when it opens. Each year people die from being trampled by the crowds. Enjoy!

Weird New Jersey

In honor of Halloween, I am posting a link to a website called Weird New Jersey. It is a magazine & book series that reports on strange ghost stories and mystical creatures that are seen in my home state of New Jersey. You can read about the Jersey Devil, Clinton Road, etc. This is a very common thing for teenagers in New Jersey to do. A bunch of friends will go at midnight to these scary places and try to see the ghosts that live there. I know it's after Halloween, but if you want to read some scary and true ghost stories, visit the website, here. Enjoy!
